Permanent Secretary of MINICOM officially opened CILTAfrica Forum that is taking place in Kigali

The 2023 edition of the CILT Africa Forum is being hosted in Kigali Convention Centre from 24th to 27th April 2023, under the theme “LOGISTICS: THE ENGINE FOR SUSTAINABLE IMPLEMENTATION OF AfCFTA”.

The Africa forum in Kigali prioritizes corporate exhibitions and business sessions and aims to attract seasoned professionals, industry leaders, government-industry regulatory officials, journalists, and academia not only from Rwanda but across the continent to deliver various insights and discussions around current issues pertaining to sustainable implementation of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The PS of MINICOM Niwenshuti Richard officially opened the CILTAfrica Forum that is under the theme of logistics and infrastructure development as an engine for sustainable implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area”.

This forum offers an opportunity for professionals in the transport and logistics sector to share best practices, engage with policymakers, interact with stakeholders, and learn about emerging trends and developments in the sector.

In his remarks, PS recognized the critical role that logistics plays in the global economy by connecting businesses and consumers across borders.

Permanent Secretary said that Rwanda has implemented infrastructure development, which resulted in the availability of roads, the Kigali logistic platform, bonded warehouses, and cross-border markets, among other facilities, with the aim of encouraging cross-border trade.

He concluded his remarks by calling upon the participants to come up with innovative approaches, proposals, and deals on how to fully implement the AfCFTA.
